John Harrhy was a founder Director of Mooring Systems Ltd – now part of Cavotec MSL. The first system was introduced for the 10,000 tonne New Zealand RORO Interisland Passenger Ferry “Aratere”
Quaysailor has been installed in Wellington, Picton, Hobart, Melbourbne, Dover and Sohala. The units come in steps of 20 tonnes and accommodate tidal changes. One of the unexpected features is that the system provides effective damping which reduces ship roll and surge up and down the wharf.
