HMS Wilton
Starting in 1968, John Harrhy was responsible for the structural design of HMS Wilton, constructed by Vosper Thornycroft in 1974. John worked alongside Dr Charles Smith of the Naval Construction Research Establishment, developing and proving analystical design methods. John went on to design the structure of the Brecon Class of Minecountermeasures vessel which achived the highest shock resistance of any of the FRP minecountervessels built to date.
